Jetty Fishing Ventura Harbor 01-26-2013
Hit the North Jetty of Ventura Harbor with Brian for a few hours. Started out on inside about half way down for about an hour for nothing. Then moved to last bend near end and fished another couple hours for nothing. Squid was the bait. Tough fishing, and not catching, but it happens :)

Surf Fishing Malibu 01-20-2013
Hit up the Malibu spot for a few hours with Brian. Arrived around 9:30AM and fished till about 1:30PM. Fishing was very slow with us each catching one small grass rockfish on squid. Great day out, lots of eye candy :) Gotta love nice thongs on da beach while fishing (made up for the slow fishing for sure). Sorry no pics of that, lol. My fish was pretty beat up by something, but I put em back anyways.

Surf Fishing Malibu 01-12-2013
Decided to hit up the Malibu spots for a couple hours. Got there a little before 2:30 to this lovely shot:
There was a -1.5 tide slated for a little before 4:00 PM, but it was already way down upon arrival.
Few nice shots of the negative tide, during higher tides I am often fishing right in this area:
First fish of the day was a small cabby at around 2:54PM
Second fish was caught around 3:25 PM a 12" grassy I was planning to keep. Put him in the water bucket and back in the water and a few minutes later I get slammed. Pull in a nice fat 17" grassy. Pics below, the 12" one looks so tiny next to the pig. Ended up letting the 12"er go.
Last fish of the day was another small grassy caught at around 4:14 PM.
Couple more shots of the negative tide areas and the parting shot (you can see Catalina on the horizon if you look close):
Pig in sink:
Found this inside when cleaning (about 2-3" long). Never seen anything like it in any previous grassies I have caught. Anyone know what the hell it is?

Surf Fishing Malibu 01-05-2013
So decided to start out the 2013 fishing season at my favorite spot. Arrived at around 11:00 AM and left about 3:00 PM. Pretty much fishing the low outgoing tide the whole time. Caught two fish, one nice 15" grassy to start out the season at around 12:30 PM, then a small grassy at about 2:15 PM. First fish caught on squid, second fish caught on squid / sardine combo. Nice to start the season with at least one quality fish :)
